According to Kesha's official website, "Chain Reaction" is about beginning to see the universe as a cyclical chain of connected events after meeting a guy in a club.

The song was on her official MySpace (Keshaishot) in 2007, along with "Friday Night Fight," "Boots & Boys" and "Backstabber," when she was known to the world as K$ and was not a famous pop star.

The song was featured in MTV's "The Hills."
