The Lord of the Rings trilogy will be released on Blu-ray April 6, 2010. The entire trilogy will be released in one nine-disc package with the theatrical versions of the films spread over three discs, along with over seven hours worth of bonus features; including 'making of' featurettes, interviews with cast members, trailers, and much more. The Blu-ray Extended Editions of the films are expected to be released at a currently unknown later date.
