Sony, like most other manufacturers are working with active 3D systems that deliver full HD quality.
LG are almost alone in choosing passive 3D, probably because it reduces resolution to only 540 lines instead of the 1080 lines of the active systems.
I personally would go with Sony as they have stuff that last, best bang for your buck. The warrenty is great and if something goes wrong by fluke with a company this big you know they are not going out of business anytime soon.
