There are two common 2.2L Chevy engines. One is the nearly indestructible 2.2L OHV engine and the other is a modern, efficient, generally well engineered but as yet unproven Ecotec 2.2L. They look very different. If the two engines look alike, they should be the same thing. Go ahead and do the swap.
Rear of the engine block.
5800 RPM
it is next to the coils at the rear of the engin between the tranmission and the engin
The thermostat is on the water pump.(the left side in the front of the car) 2 screws to take out that's all
22L (liters) is 5.81 US gallons.
you can find it on the trans axle next to the starter, its in the owners manual...mike
GM doesn't have the fuel pump inertia switch. That's a Ford thing.
48 foot pounds start from the center and work your way out. then go back over them and tighten them an additional 1/4 turn. remember you have to use new headbolts each time you remove the head
lr stands for long rifle(uses a bullet) I dont know where you got 22l from
Generally when the head gets replaced you would also want to replace your plugs as well. It can sometimes be a result from where the water has traveled into the oil from a bad head. I replaced mine with bosch platinum 2 and haven't regretted it for 2 years.
My 97 cavalier 2.2L engine takes 4 quarts. There are two different 2.2 Chevy motors. One holds about 4 qts. and one holds about 5qts. Always check after filling and circulating the oil.
