No it will not even come close to bolten up to the 96 engine. Chevy REDESIGNED the engine block and the transmissions. Nothing below late 1999 will enterchange with anything from late 1999 and up.
I have a 1995 chevy 4x4 with 4l60e which is bad i have other 4l60e out of a 1997 chevy 4x4 will it work ?
NO IT WILL NOT. You MUST put the 4L60E back in it due to the computer system. Are you will have all kinds of problems.
No it will not. The only transmission that will WORK in the 96 IS A 1996 MODEL. NO other years will interchange.
First of all, The 97 trucks did not have the 700r4 in them. The 1/2 tons had the 4L60E and the 3/4 tons used the 4L80E. Any year 700r4 transmission will work in the 84 as long as it is out of a truck.
The 88 year transmission will not work in the 99 because of the computer in the 99. You need a 4L60E from the year 1993 to 1995 and then it goes to 1998 to 1999. 1996 and 1997 transmissions will not work. Now if your 99 is the NEW BODY DESIGN truck then you can use these year 4L60E transmissions. From LATE MONTH 1999 to 2006 will work.
NO, not even close. In late 1999 Chevy redesigned the transmission and the engines in all there trucks. You will need to put the 4L60E back in it, I believe late 92 to 1995 transmissions will all work in the 94 model.
NO it will not work. YOU MUST PUT THE 4L60E 4x4 transmission BACK IN IT.DUE TO THE COMPUTER SYSTEM IN THE TRUCK.
It will bolt up to the back of the engine, But that's it. The 97 ECM / computer REQUIRES a electronic controlled transmission Witch is the 4L60E / E is for electronic controlled transmission. The only 2 different years of the 4L60E that will work is the 96 and 97 model due to the bell-housing and transmission dust cover and the design of the transmission braces. If the truck don't have the 4L60E trans in it. The engine won't even run RIGHT. The 1989 transmission was not COMPUTER CONTROLLED. WON'T WORK.
It sure will, with no problems.
That would be the 4L60E transmission. Nothing under the year 2000 will work in that truck. It must also be a 4-wheel drive transmission. 2 and 4-wheel drive transmissions WILL NOT INTERCHANGE.
Yes it will bolt up, But you can't use it on that year because the 96 is all computer controled and must have the 4L60E transmission put back in it so all the electronics will work right. The 82 transmission is not a electronic transmission. WILL NOT WORK.
4L60-E OR 4L-80E DEPENDING ON THE SIZE OF TRUCK 4L60E HAS 16 PAN BOLTS 4L80E HAS 17 PAN BOLTS NEW ANSWER: If it is a 1/2 ton then it MUST have a 1996 or 1997 4L60E put in it. NO OTHER YEARS WILL WORK. If it is a 3/4 ton then it MUST have the 4L80E put in it and NO other years will work.
