The 88 year transmission will not work in the 99 because of the computer in the 99. You need a 4L60E from the year 1993 to 1995 and then it goes to 1998 to 1999. 1996 and 1997 transmissions will not work.
Now if your 99 is the NEW BODY DESIGN truck then you can use these year 4L60E transmissions. From LATE MONTH 1999 to 2006 will work.
