Of course it will. If we're talking about 90+ models. The two engines are mostly the same. The difference is the turbos and the engine internals. The n/a uses a vg30de and the twin turbo uses a vg30dett. Basically buy a jdm vg30dett and pop it right in. Be prepared to spend a lot of money if you do this, though.
fit a twin turbo engine
The turbo off the 300z will fit on the r32, not the manifold, only the turbo.
Your and Idiot.
no, not at all. the newer VQ engines are rumored to fit, but you have a lot of work to do with the ECU and engine management when you do that. Best/easiest bet is to turbo that ka24de.
You might have a problem with the orientation but it will work. Here's a list of engines seen in a z31, http://www.az-zbum.com/modification.engine.swap.shtml
yea but you have to change the mounts and the radiator but why would you do that just turbo it
In fact any turbo can be used on any turboed car. It will just have to be custom fitted. The real issue here is that the 94 Z is twin turbo while the 87 Z is single turbo.
yes it will
although possible, it is not recommended. The actual cast engine block is the same however, the intake manifold and exhaust manifolds are to wide to fit into the z31 engine bay. So it is possible but would take a good amount of custom fabrication. I'd recommend an sr20 or rb series motor swap. considerably less modification
AnswerI'm pretty sure you can even fit a 300zx twin turbo engine (VG30dett)into your 240sx. Many people would perfer a skyline turbo/twin turbo engine(RB25det/RB26dett) though. All you need is lots of money and access to a shop to change your motor/transmition mounts, and cut off some stuff to make room. If you're interested, check this guy 1991 240sx with a skyline motor, and they may even help you with your 300zx engine if you contact them. http://www.mckinneymotorsports.com/projects.phpI'm positive you can put a vg30dett in a 240sx cuz people put ls1 corvette engines in them all the time my friend a has one with a ls2 in it
If they are both non-turbo or turbo, (meaning 4 or 5 lug) than it should work.
The engine will only fit in right hand steered cars because of turbo issues with the brake master cylinder.
