yes they are the same transmission, just change the mount
no, i believe the 1992 crown vic uses a AODE transmission, while the Lincoln mark viii uses a 4r70w.
No, the 1983 - 1992 Crown Victorias used the AOD transmission and the 1993-1994 Crown Victorias used the AODE transmission, so they would be different. Sorry!
the 96 thunderbird was only available in an auto tranny.. the 4R70W, this is the same auto tranny that the 96 - 04 mustang v6 and gt have, so you should have no problems.. hope this helps!

yes it will fit i put one in a 94 thunderbird there is getting to be a few of them around now with the mark VIII engine the bolt in is simple its the wiring that takes a while
i dont believe any v6 can replace a v8
the AODE is an electronically controlled transmission that is controlled by a separate computer this may not be a good idea for a novice.
I had a 302 w a C4 from a 86 thunderbird fit in a 80 fairmont fourdoor... a t5 tranny would just need a new cross member...
Only the AODE that came with the Taurus.
Most likely it will. If your Lincoln is a town car, even more likely (same frame)
The 1978 thunderbird had a 460 as one of its optional engines so yes it can fit
The only auto trans that will fit are the 94-95 AODE.
