Yes, many people have done this. Whether it's a 1.6 or 2.0 it can handle a turbo. If you have high mileage you may want to have some checks done on your motor first. TSI still sells a turbo kit for the 1.6

The 200sx se-r chassis is the same chassis as the 200sx se. I have a 96 se-r and the only difference between mine and an 200sx SE are suspension differences and the engine itself.

Skyline is definitley more powerful. It is hard to get in the US. The 200sx has a non-turbo 4 cylinder engine (stock) compared to the turboed inline six in the skyline.
