There should be no problem if you use a SIM card in an unlocked phone. If the phone is locked make sure the network is available to you.
Yes it is possible to see if your phone is unlocked. You can borrow a sim card from someone who has a cellphone with a different service company. If the card works and the phone thinks its your friends phone then your phone is unlocked.
Hi, yes a at&t Sim card will work on any unlocked phone
An unlocked phone can accept the SIM card from any cell phone provider. If you have an ATT SIM card, you can use it in an unlocked phone. A locked phone is created by the provider to force the use of its service; an unlocked phone can take any SIM card.
Unlocked GSM cell phones should work with any provider. You will be able to tell one the sim card is put in the phone.
all you have to do is put an activated sim card in the phone it you should have no problem using your new phone :)
No Verizon Wireless phones can not because they have no Sim Card. Therefore there is no way to install the unlock on the cell phone.
It is the phone itself. SIM cards are peculiar to GSM phones. There are other types that do not use a SIM card. The SIM card carries information that is specific to the subscriber. All phones have operating software. Some of the software is common to all phones, regardless of who the carrier is. Some portions of the programming are reserved for the carrier. An example of this would be the banner the user sees when the phone is powering up, but there is a lot of programming that is transparent to the user, which is protected by the lock.
Unlocked phones are GSM phones that will work with any GSM carrier. A GSM phone works on AT& T, T-mobil and any other system that is GSM compatible. Most inetrnational cariers are GSM.
Assuming the phones are of the same specification for the SIM card - yes.

it all depends on the phone. some are behind the battery some like the iPhone are on the top of the phone. but if you cannot find it i would suggest taking out the battery and looking there most phones have the sim card there.
