Once an air bag has been deployed, there is no fixing it. Replacement is necessary and the cost would depend on the year, make and model vehicle.
my airbags have been deployed and my seat belts are locked. What should I do
no.Only time air bags need changing is after the airbags have been deployed in the event of a wreck, or if the dash light comes on indicating there is a problem with the airbags. airbag replacement or repair is a specialist job and most steering colomn specialists will do the job proerly for you.
The SRS light refers to the airbags, have you bought this car used or new? If the car has been wrecked and the airbags have been deployed and it has been fixed back without the air bags or the sensors to the airbags has not been replaced or the computer has not been reset to clear the SRS light out after it has been repaired. That's my experience with these lights staying on. If it has been repaired correctly with the airbag system then all you need to do is go to a dealer or someone with a computer and let them hook it up and reset the SRS light and you should be good to go that's if the new air bag system and sensors have been installed correctly.
Usually if the airbags have been deployed in an accident, the car is "totaled". The expense is just too great to replace the airbags and their related sensors and all the wiring inside the steering column and dashboard. On the flip side, IF the car can be repaired satisfactorily, the amount of time needed to get the parts depends upon the manufacturer itself, and IF they actually make replacement parts or IF they are in stock.
Don't just reset the srs light! It could still be caused by a faulty sensor. I'd take it to the dealership to get it checked out. Airbags can save your life.
lots and lots of lives have been saved by airbags. its indeed very cool.
The airbags do not have to be deployed to turn the airbag light on. The system runs a self check each time the car is started and if a problem is detected, it turns the light on. Basically, this works the same as the MIL light (also known as the Check Engine Light, or Service Engine Soon Light)
The ship has been deployed; it left San Diego (I believe) the second week in November and is on its way to Iraq.
No, Congress cannot rescind the order to send troops once they have been deployed as in the case of Afghanistan.
43 have been built, 25 are active.
yes, the airbags coul have popped. did they turn the switch off for the airbags?
