No.
The 1997 wrangler or jeep hardtop can be replaced by any jeep hardtop from 1997 to 2005. The answer is most probably that a 1995 hardtop will NOT fit a 1997 TJ.
No, they are not interchangeable.
I am told it will fit, but you may have some issues with the doors.
The CJ and YJ tubs are the same. So yes it will fit.
Yes those are both TJ's it will fit
No, it should not fit
No, YJ and CJ doors are the same, TJ and JK doors are different
No, the hinges are different
You can modify a YJ style hardtop to fit a TJ style jeep by grinding down the portion that fits to the windshield and you can mount a TJ style hardtop to a YJ style Jeep by building up the fiberglass that fits to the windshield. The rear of a YJ and the rear of a TJ are the same size, but the hardtop mounting holes are located in different places on the YJ versus the TJ so drilling new ones would be required. The door channels are identical from YJ to TJ. The front area of the hardtop that mounts to the windshield channel for a YJ hardtop has to be ground down on the right and left corners and the center has to be ground up in an arc to accommodate the slight rise on the TJ windshield frame. The front section of the TJ style hardtop has to be built up using fiberglass patches and filler and then ground to fit if you are trying to make it fit on a YJ. Also the mounting latches on the top of the windshield on a YJ are very different than a TJ so footman loops and latches have to be installed. Grinding down is always easier than building up so its possible but requires quite a bit more effort to modify a TJ hardtop to fit a YJ than it does to modify a YJ hardtop to fit a TJ. I have modified a YJ hardtop to fit a TJ because I got one cheap, otherwise I would have bought the one that fits.
