The crankshaft may not have to be turned if the journals are smooth/undamaged but you should have it checked if you got it in your hand. It could be out of round.

Q: Will a crank from a 97 2.4liter cavalier have to be turned if the bearing is bad but hasn't spun its still thick just a small piec of the bearing broke and caused the rod to knock slightly at high rpm?
