If two balls just fall off a table, none will be faster than the other. If one of the balls initially has a horizontal speed, and the other doesn't, or if one is faster in the horizontal direction than the other, then they should reach the floor at the same time.

no; the fast ball will land farther away but they both hit the floor at the same time

What falls faster a golf ball or ping pong ball?

In vacuum (no air) they both fall the same rate. In air, the golf ball falls faster because air resistance slows down the very light ping pong ball

Suppose you roll a ball off a table top will the time to hit the ground depend on the speed?

If you are talking about the speed at which you roll the ball along the table before it falls of, it will not affect the time it takes to reach the floorAlso, if you are starting your measuring of time from when you started the roll until it hits the ground or if you are starting the measurement from when it falls of the table until it hits the ground will make a difference. If you are just measuring the time it takes from when it left the table until it hits the floor, the speed of the roll will have no effect.

The velocity time graph of a ball moving on surface of floor is shown in figure calculate the force acting on ball if mass of floor is 20gram?

a ball rolled across a horizontal table moved at cont ant velocity why?

A ball rolls off the end of a table with a speed of 2 mpers It hits the ground after 3 s If the tableop is 1 m from the floor what was the horizontal distance from the end of the table traveled by?

Hold up, whoa ! Just wait a second there. If the table-top is 1 meter from the floor, then the ball hits the floor 0.45 seconds after itrolls off the edge of the table. The horizontal speed makes no difference.A cannonball fired horizontally from the cannon and a cannonball dropped from the muzzleof the cannon hit the ground at the same time. Horizontal speed doesn't keep anything upany longer than if it drops straight down with no horizontal speed. If the ball is rolling horizontally along the table at 2 m/s, then it falls to the floor 0.45 secondsafter it reaches the edge, and in that period of time, it sails (2 x 0.45) = 0.9 meter out past theend of the table.

What happens to the horizontal velocity of a ball after it rolls off a table?

The horizontal velocity will be equal to the translational velocity of the ball right before it falls off the table. ============================== When we do exercises that deal with the behavior of the ball after it leaves the edge of the table, we always ignore air resistance. When we do that, the horizontal component of velocity remains constant forever, or at least until the ball hits something.

What falls faster dry tennis ball or a wet tennis ball?

Wet, because in has more weight on it. If a tennis ball is wet it can't bounce it just falls and stays on the ground.

A ball rolls off a table and falls 80 m to the floor landing with a speed of 4.5 ms What is the magnitude of the acceleration of the ball just before it strikes the ground?

It's 9.81m/s since vertical acceleration is always constant.

What is the kinetic energy of a ball when it is dropped from a height and it falls on a table?

it is the difference of the potential energy when the body is on the table and from the position where it is dropped.

Is it foul if cue ball jumps after hitting the object ball in 8-ball?

Depends.... Does the ball "jump" off the table and land on the floor? If so then yes. If it jumps off the table and lands back on with out falling into the pocket then no(like a jump). once the ball (any ball) hits the floor it is a foul. jumps are allowed in billards (except snooker i believe)

What falls faster a golf ball or a table tennis ball?

The golf ball will land first. All objects fall at the same speed, but that's in a vacuum. The ping pong ball has a huge amount of drag (which is air resistance) for its weight, so it will be slowed enough for there to be a visible difference.AnswerThe golf ball will reach only a second or so before the ping pong ball. The chair will not be high enough for the ping pong ball to be considerably slowed due to air resistance.

Will a ball bounce higher if it is drooed at a great distance from the floor?

All other things being constant - the faster the ball is going when it hits, the higher it will bounce. And the higher it was when it is released, the faster it will be going.
