I am thinking of rescuing a yorkie whose mama was an elderly woman who passed away. I had seen a hawk in the yard last month so I researched this... Sounds like it IS a definite possibility. Here are some links:

No. Yorkshire Terriers are ratting dogs so if they see anything like a cat or rat/mouse or bird then they'll chase it and scare it off.
Yes, they can! I actually have 2 close friends that lost their Yorkies that way. One never saw her Yorkie again, and the other watched as the hawk dropped it over the retention pond next to her house b/c the poor pup was struggling to get away and the hawk couldn't hold it anymore.
If it means food, yes a fox will try to kill any animal that's smaller than itself.
A 5lb dog would be something like a Chihuahua or Yorkshire Terrier.
I am afraid that a hawk will kill my 10 lb dog.
1.5 to 2.9 lb
Yes, if you have the appropiate tools like a knife or a club.
15-16" tall usually, and usually over 12-22 lb.
According to the American Kennel Club, a full grown Yorkshire Terrier's weight "must not exceed 7 lbs". I would say typically they fall between 4 to 7 lbs, however, depending on many factors they could weigh anywhere from 2 to 12 lbs :)
Yorkies can be different sizes depending on what type of yorkie. The Teacup Yorkies can fit into a teacup. The Toy Yorkies can get up to about 1 1/2 feet. The regular Yorkies can get up to about 2 feet. Actually, there is only one variety of yorkshire terrier. they should not be more then seven lbs.
yes
Yes it good to do that.
a shitload
Anywhere from 3 and a half to 5 pounds. Any less or more than that and they have a weight problem
