The belt will be fine. You just need to replace that pump.
It will not damage belts but may make them slip.
No but, I have seen coolant on the belts cause the belts to be noisy temporally.
it is leaking
It is probably because your air conditioner needs maintenance. Water condenses under the dash and drips if your system has leaks.Super M.D.
Yes. Usually.
Running it while leaking can cause it to overheat repeatedly, which can cause thermostat damage , along with other problems.
You are not leaking water. Its humid, so the cold parts of your a/c unit are condensing moisture much like a cold drink gets water droplets on the outside. find the source, wrap that tubing with insulation and viola, no more drips.
The water pump on the 2000 olds Alero is located on the passenger side where the drive belts are. Water leaking from the water pump entails replacement.
If you drive through a water puddle, water can get on the belts-antifreeze leaking, oil leaking, maybe a bad alternator /idler bearing, and sometimes a glazed/worn out belt.
because the air condition is cooling the air! The colder air gets, the less water it can keep. So the water drips out of the box, where the air is cooled.
If it's in a bathroom near a toilet maybe the pipe has been leaking.
water pump
There is a weep hole in many water pumps and when coolant leaks from there it is an indication that the bearing and seals are failing and the pump will need replacing. Feel with your hand on the part of the water pump that the fan is connected to, or if car is equipped with an electric fan you will need tolocate the water pump, the weep hole is on the under side of the pulley shaft housing. If your finger comes back wet you have found the problem.
I take it you are talking about the large (header) tank in your loft which feeds your hot water cylinder. If so its the ball valve leaking and needs a washer replacing. hope this helps. Gaz
