Some do try, but the female will not let him, she will push him away. But right after she gives birth he will impregnate her again and it's extremely dangerous, she will most likely die!! So you need to separate them right away, before she gives birth! Get him fixed asap! Or just keep them apart at all times! Good luck.
yes they will fight
They can be pregnant but it is not fair for a baby guinea pig to have to hold up to 8 guinea pigs. There is a very high chance they will die. I had a guinea pig that was pregnant when I got her(she was 14 weeks when she had babies) and she had 2 babies and tey all survived.
Guinea pigs can become pregnant again IMMEDIATELY after giving birth. They can also get pregnant at any age, but after passing a certain age, they are very likely to die. Even a young, healthy pig at prime breeding age has a 25% chance of dying from a pregnancy. Please do not breed your guinea pigs. If you already have a pregnant female, be sure she doesn't get pregnant again afterwards by removing the father immediately and removing male babies 21 days after the birth.
yes, almost any male can get almost any female pregnant, in fact you cannot let a male in the same hutch as a female even just for half an hour, and a male can get a female pregnant again just after a half an hour if left in the hutch
No a boar will not breed a pregnant sow. She has to be in heat for him to breed her which occurs every 21 days. Boars will hump female pigs and even other males, in fact piglets can start the humping behavior as early as a couple days old.
Female guinea pigs sexually mature very early. They can actually begin to reproduce at 3 to 4 weeks of age. Pregnancy is especially hard on a guinea pig, but even more so at this age. It is usually recommended that you do not allow your guinea pig to breed, but if you are going to, wait until they are at least 7 months of age to allow them in with a male.
Can a female still get pregnant if she didn't come but the male came in you
Yes, though they may not be as noticeable.
Either testicle is capable of getting a female pregnant. Even a male with only one testicle can get a female pregnant.
You shouldn't bathe a guinea pig anyway unless they are absoloutely disgusting. So it would be even more stressful for a pregnant guinea pig. Unless instructed by a vet or she is really dirty, I would say no.
Yes, but make sure when the baby grows up you separate them if you do not want babies if the baby guinea pig is a male. At about 3 to 4 months. not a male baby older then 4 weeks....yes at 4 weeks a male baby can get females pregnant .... even if it is the mother or sisters ,, ^^ The brother can't get the sister pregnant - I've read it in books before. ^^
There is usually no problem with adding a new guinea pig even if you already have one. The best combination is to have a female, then introduce a new female. It isn't a good idea to introduce a new guinea pig if you have a male, unless you bring in a female because you want them to breed. If you must add a new male, try wshing it first to remove all old traces of its previous companions, as male guinea pigs are a lot more territorial than females.
