Both the first generation ('89-'92) and second generation ('93-'97) Prizms were powered by the same engine, the 4A-FE, but the option of a more powerful engine was also available to buyers, the 4A-GE engine for the first generation cars and the 7A-FE for the second generation cars.
The Geo Prizm GSi alrady has a 4AGE smallport MAP sensor engine. The other model of Prizms have the 4AFE engine, which would be a downgrade in performance.
I had the same problem with my 92 Prizm. NO ppm was 4350. I replaced the EGR Modulator and it solved the problem.
It is located in the gas tank which can be accessed by removing the back seat.

how do you set timing on a 92 geo prizm if timing belt has broken
50,000-60,000 miles. Whoever changes the timing belt, recommend buy the kit (not just the belt) and be careful to keep timing marks aligned.
Base models are manual windows and locks. LSI models are opposite of base models.

the tires could fit, but will rub when you turn. I have a 92 Tracker, but they are the same style i believe.
on my 92 tracker with 1.6 motor i get about 20 to 21 to the gal.
