Will a playstation keep a games information if an identical disk is inserted?

The PS3 for example does not keep the whole game disc downloaded in it's harddrive and if a disc is actually identical how would the device know that it was a different disc and a copy could not be identical because certain areas or the disc are not available except for professional or commercial equipment
