Why doesn't air pressure crush an empty soft-drink can as you drive down the mountain?

The empty soda can is not sealed so air is free to enter and leave the can. As a result, pressure inside the can is the same as it is outside.

How does a rubber sucker pad used to lift glass sheet work?

When you push down the pad it forces the air out from underneath the pad. as a result, the air pressure inside the pad is less than the air pressure outside the pad. So the air pressure outside pushes down on the pad.

What happens to the current if the potential difference is stepped-up in an ideal transformer?

In an ideal transformer, if the voltage is stepped up by a factor of x, then the current is stepped down by a factor of x. The end result is that the power, P=VI, is not changed. Again, this is in the ideal case.

Why do atmospheric pressure changes cause pain in broken bones?

When long bones are growing, small pockets or trabecular are stretched along the bone's length and the negative pressure in this space results from the increased volume. When the bone is broken, the ends of the break heal with the pressure in these long honey tubes nor standardised at 1atmosphere. Once the break has consolidated, any sudden drop in the barometer, tends to result in a painful sensation as the pressure in the bone is greater than that's outside of it and pressure sensors signal the result as a mild ache.
