Depends on overall condition, bodystyle, engine, transmission, etc.
a satellite is your lower model car with smaller engines and transmissions and rearends compared to a gtx which was top dog in the Plymouth b bodie line in 69 gtx had 440 or the awesome 426 hemi heavy duty 727 transmission or 883 4 spd and the Dana 60 rearend plus heavy duty suspension all put in a loaded interior and exterior package.
In 69 you could get whatever you wanted, a lot of impalas had the 12 bolt rearend and some had the 8.5 10 bolt rearend.
the backing plate on the rearend has to come off and there are C -clips that you have to pull out of each axle where they mesh with the gears inside the rearend and then you can pull the axles out.
that all depended on the engine in it and the rearend gear.
