As of now (2008) technology it is not practical to make materials that are sufficiently strong and light to build an Earth based space elevator. This is because the weight of conventional materials needed to construct such a structure would be far too great.
Space Shuttle Endeavour was the final Space Shuttle built. It was built to replace Space Shuttle Challenger.
first one ever launched was Spunik by the Russians
No, its neither. Its a tall tower structure. That was built for the Seattle worlds fair of 1962. You can take the elevator to the top. There is an observation deck and a restaurant. It was built to look "space age" for 1962. But No dome , NO arch.
The first space shuttle ever built was the Space Shuttle Enterprise. It was constructed as a prototype and test vehicle and never flew into space. Enterprise was used for approach and landing tests before the operational shuttle flights began with Columbia.
An elevator system must be installed when the building is built. There is no way to install an elevator into a structure.
No. The space shuttle is built for low Earth orbit, not moon landings.
The first electric elevator was built by Werner von Siemens in 1880.
I don't think that ANY individual person has ever built a space rocket. Such rockets are built by teams of people, not by individuals.
He rode in the Great Glass Elevator to get into space.
Nope.
no they are not
nothing
