ALL chemical substances, which includes legal and illegal drugs, herbs, vitamins, etc., have the potential to cause negative physical symptoms, damage to organs, and even death. In ALL "overdoses", significant damage occurs to major organs and to the brain. Some of these are reversible-- others are permanent. Many people take enough in an overdose to die, yet they don't die. Instead, they are then left to live with permanent physical or mental impairment. The reason overdose is so variable is because each person's body and chemistry are different-- amounts that could kill one person may only damage another person. Therefore, overdosing carries many more dangers and long-term effects other than simply death.

Yes. Too much of anything may kill you. Painkillers will destroy your liver and evidently you will die from renal failure.

What can you give your cat for pain got in a cat fight?

Take the cat to the vet. Never try and medicate a cat yourself, as it is far too easy to overdose such a small animal using human medication. A vet will be able to clean the wounds, administer painkillers and antibacterial treatment. You will most likely get a prescription of antibiotics and painkillers to give to your cat daily for a week or so to prevent infection and to help the wounds heal.
