engine model of the 1993 Nissan 240sx is the ka24de in the USA. in japan it is the sr20det.
Yes it will. You would have to do a complete engine swap. The Silvia engine is the SR20DET. They don't cost that much.
SR20DET will drop nicely in it, its a 2.0L turbo lump and can be found on eBay for about £1000
The Nissan SR20DET is a popular 4-cylinder JDM engine known for being the heart of the Nissan 180SX and Silvia. SR20DET engine swaps are popular in North America for 240SX owners.SR - Engine Family20 - 2.0 Liters DisplacementD - Dual Overhead CamE - Electronic Fuel InjectionT - Turbocharged Nissan also produced a cheaper naturally aspirated (non-turbo) version of the SR engine called the SR20DE.
yes any model of 240sx will be able to fit a sr20det as long as the harness is spliced to the old one of the stock ka. yes any model of 240sx will be able to fit a sr20det as long as the harness is spliced to the old one of the stock ka.
yes it will and its about the best thing you could do to a 240Sx.
engine without transmission is 150kg depending on which accessories are attached.
Typically the OEM engine oil viscosity. Nissan's Hydraulic lifters for the SR20DE and SR20DET are usually recommended to be placed in 'engine oil' when the engine is undergoing rebuild, which in this case would be 7.5W30 (from factory) or approximately 10W40 depending on the viscosity you can find at your local store.
its called the sr20det gtir bluebird or sss atessa look it up relativley cheap
yep and you can use your existing transmission too. its reccomended to use the SR's flywheel and clutch but in a pinch the KA's components should work that and you can use the AEM ecu for the altima on bothe the stock KA and the SR. CHEERS you will need to use the intake and cooling chamber ( large cylindrical tube under the intake in altima over the intake on sr20det) from the old engine for it fit in the compartment.
the Nissan 240sx in American markets was released with the ka24de... a dismal attempt of a performance engine. while in Japan Australia and other markets was released with the sr20de/sr20det, a MAGNIFICENT engine, easy power gains with bolt on modifications, and an aftermarket parts list that could fill a phone book, has proven it to be one of the best performance engines coming from Japan. early models of the 180sx came with the ca18de/ca18det engines which are very popular too, but later models came out with the sr20det also. the only notable difference would be the body and interior, but the chassis remains the same.
