You smear your nails, get polish on your tongue, have a really bad taste in your mouth, and probably get sick and throw up.
Someone can have a bad reaction to nail polish. Those with sensitive skin can experience a negative reaction that can affect the nail bed as well as the surrounding area.
If you lick nail polish, nothing will really "happen". It'll taste nasty and get a few chemicals on your tongue, which most people avoid. If its dry, there really is no harm being done. If its wet, call poison control. :)
You can get infected with all the chemicals and flueds in your scar and you have hurry to see the docter so they could check it or you can get sick
She will not get sick as long as she does not lick her nails while the polish is wet. Once it is dry she will be fine. Why you would want to paint your cats nails in the first place is beyond me. Just use some quick drying nail polish and you'll be good to go.

Of course the first step would be to spit out whatever you could. Once you had done that, you would rinse out your mouth with water. If it got irritated, call a physician. If you swallowed it, call a physician. Unless you swallowed quite a bit though it is unlikely that you will get sick from it. Most likely is irritation of your mouth from the solvents used in it. Note that there are some nail polishes that use pigments that are more hazardous, including a few that use stuff like lead or other heavy metals - not a good idea to use that kind in the first place. Acetone is a harmful chemical. You should limit your exposure and only use as much as you need to get the job done and no more than that.
