The pickups won't.. the F650/F750 already use them.
No, Ford has never used Cummins diesel engines in their trucks. Ford typically uses its own Power Stroke diesel engines in its Super Duty and other truck models. Cummins engines are primarily associated with Dodge Ram trucks, which have featured Cummins engines for many years. Ford's rivalry with Dodge has led to the use of their own proprietary diesel technology instead.
Not entirely certain of what you mean exactly, so let me try to cover all the bases.Neither company has ever owned Cummins. Ford at one time held less than 10% of Cummins stock, and that was it.As for using Cummins engines, in their pickups, no, but Ford did use Cummins engines before Dodge did - in their heavy duty trucks, such as tractor-trailers.
no, not from the factory. however you can special order, say a Ford with a cummins.
ford uses several diesel engines, but in the light duty trucks, they are all international/ navistar engines
The Cummins motor is not a "Dodge". Dodge does use the "b" series Cummins engine in its pick up trucks. Ford does use the Cummins in its F650 and larger trucks. NO, Ford never has used the Cummins Diesel as far as I know. Up until 2010 the Powerstroke was built by Navistar, formerly International Harvester. In 2010 Ford starting building the Powerstroke themselves but kept the name. Dodge uses the Cummins diesel and GM uses the Duramax which was designed jointly with isuzu.
Ford does not own Cummins or Cummins "patents". If they were Cummins patents they would belong to Cummins. Cummins may well license patents from Ford, cross-licensing is common in industry, and there would be nothing unusual in that. Ford did own some Cummins stock in the past, but Cummins is an independent company with plants all over the world. This is a rumor that has circulated for years, partly because of an old internet hoax. Ford does use a Cummins in one of their heavy duty trucks, I believe, but their main source of heavy duty diesels is International.
They already do!! Not the smaller F-250 threw F-550's but in their 650's- 750's they have ran cummins as an option for a long time and to this day. Today it's the red IBS engine and its displacement is 6.7L. Very strong and reliable engines too. If your referring to the smaller models then probably not because the new powerstroke is completely ford built and doing pretty good as of now unlike the 6.0L and 6.4L which were International built engines.
No, they just have a contract to use there engines.
Choosing between Cummins and Duramax engines largely depends on personal preference and specific needs. Cummins engines are known for their durability and high torque, making them popular for heavy-duty applications and towing. In contrast, Duramax engines, often found in Chevrolet and GMC trucks, are praised for their smooth performance and fuel efficiency. Ultimately, the best choice will vary based on the intended use, vehicle brand loyalty, and desired features.
Depends on model. Cummins manufactures a wide range of engines for industrial, highway, and marine use.
Might be a 7.3 Navistar 6.0 and 7.3 were sold in the f-650 and up you could get catipiler and cummins ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Cooper is right, in the F250-550, you could only get the 6.0 and 7.3 as Ford offered the two diesels that particular year. Phased out the 7.3. To get a cummins or Cat you had to buy a 650 or 750.
