You can find them for decently cheap. (Even though they will always be more expensive than normal bbs.) However, the cheaper they get, the worse grade they will be, making them jam in your gun, and altogether horrible for it. The alternative to Paintball bbs, are marking bbs which are coated in a layer of chalk, which mark as well as paintball bbs and wont jam.
No. .12 is the cheapest bbs. They have the least pain to the hit, the least length to the hit, are more vulnerable to swerving from wind, and cause the most errors and jams in your gun. All professional grade bbs are at least .2 or .25. I highly recommend getting at least .20, not .12.
