It depends on when, and, where you preorder the game, I suggest you call a local Gamestop and ask if store gives you the Recon redemption code upfront when you preorder the game at the store (not sure if the same applys for on-line buying) I also had the same question and I called Gamestop and asked if they would give me the Recon code upfront when I preordered the game and the guy said yes. =) (I'm not really sure if the same applys for other stores) (btw I live in North America)

If you are saying the game code to redeem yes because it is mature content this is sometimes the same for add-ons. But if you want a 20$ code or something like that and not a game you don't because your getting the code and then buying from PSN not gamestop.

If you put down $5 to reserve a game and the price of the game is $60 than the game would cost $55 + tax. When reserving a game it may include free add ons which is cool. Also when you reserve the game you must buy the game from the same Gamestop, it is store designated.
