I don't really know but I hope so. I have the same problem, I just bought Ge Force GT 240 and my board doesn't seem to recognize it because the nvidia driver said that it didn't find any graphics card compatible with the driver. So if 9600 GT works with i945G motherboard, may be I will switch to that! xD But if 9800 GT also works, I would rather use it. XD

yes but only if you have 9600 gs geforce vid card or better
Yes, Geforce 210 cards support all the way up to shader 4.1. I have the PNY geforce 210.
If you do a lot of gaming consider getting an nVidia GeForce 9600 video card.

you may well struggle. I think the minimum spec is 2.2ghz to run the game on vista. you're grphics card, ram etc sounds ok. I have PB ixtreme 9600 but with same amount of ram and hard drive as you, however I have an Intel2 quad core 2.4 ghz processor. Also, Nvidia 9600 geforce and soundblaster extreme gamer fatality. I recently completed the game and did experience some slight lag/glitches in parts (mainly during the end sequences). Still, it didn't ruin the gamelplay, much. hope this is of some help
No. 9600GT does NOT support TRI-SLI!!! 2 GTX 260 is possible.
The 9500gt is better, but still you would not get satisfying performance with it. Go for 9600 or 8800. 8600 is fine but still not that satisfying.
They look at the number and the name first. They release the higher number of the series of the graphics cards but as they progress they make alternative graphics cards for the performance users and finish off with the mainstream users and start off again with the higher number graphics cards with a higher number again. e.g geforce 7,8,9,GTX Many people believe that the higher the number the better for example Geforce 9600 GT will beat the Geforce 8800 Ultra but that is not true This is a product naming scheme from nVidia Enthusiast/Overclocker/Gamer = GTX, Ultra, GX2 Geforce 7950 GX2 GeForce 8800 GTX/Ultra GeForce 6800 Ultra Mainstream User = GSO, GT, GTS, GTO GeForce 7600GT, GeForce 8600GT GeForce 6600GT Value Conscious User = SE, LE, GS, GeForce 7300GS, GeForce 6200
4.95 percent of 9600 = 475.24.95% of 9600= 0.0495 *9600= 475.2
