Because the water is warmer at the equator than at the pole. The warmer ocean water is the faster the currents move and the colder the water is the slow the currents move.
All the glue I use holds in warmer temperatures. You must be doing something wrong.
Some glues like epoxy dry faster when hotter, others like silicon based adhesives dry faster under cold conditions. -All glue is different . When asking an adhesive or glue question, simply saying "glue" is not enough information.

You can glue things faster and more easily with a glue gun than with a tube of glue (although I still use tubes, personally).
Warmer makes it flow better.
