In my opinion, no- unfortunately. The majority of all such shootings have involved people that that were breaking laws that already exist about possessing guns. Laws by themselves do not stop people from committing crimes.
Amount of major shooting incidents in high school/college - 50 tops Amount of not shootings in high school/college - 300,000? way more. don't have any worries about getting shot.
