Will hamsters and mice get along if they were in the same cage together?

Yes, but it depends on the gender and breed of your pets. Some mice and hamsters are quite violent (Russian hamsters are one example), volatile pets should be kept with their own species only and even then only in small groups. Also, if both your animals are male there is a high risk of them fighting, slightly less if they are both female but it is still possible.
You can keep them together, but it's not totally easy to make sure they won't fight. Read up on the breed you're getting and maybe ask a vet before considering it, otherwise better safe than sorry - separate them.

∙ 15y agoNo way. Hamsters enjoy eating mice. Same way pet rats enjoying chewing on gerbils, mice hamsters. Basically most rodents will try taking bites out of smaller rodents.they like sex there head and dat mann!

Yes, female mices can get along once they get used to each other. Introduce the mice outside the cage first and see how they get on. If they don't fight try this: clean the cage you are going to put them in very well (to get all the 'mouse' smell off it) and then put the female mice in the cage together at the same time. As this cage has been cleaned it should be neutral territory and therefore the female mice should not fight. If they do fight you might want to consider houseing them in different cages.

I wouldn't use a tank for mice at all. It does not have good ventilation even if it has a screen on top. A wire cage is good even if its made for hamsters. It gives the mice good air and also a fun aparatus to climb on. :) Just make sure the bars are close together so your mice won't slip out.
