IIT BHU all the way. IIT BHU has always been ranked alongside Roorkee if not above in all engineering college rankings.
It is really Good.
I have been follwing this since my son got course allocation (afterJEE) at ITBHU this year. I am sure IT BHU will become IIT-BHU or Varanasi one day. What I could not understand is, if the instituion is not the same standrard ad IIT, why selection process is still throgh JEE; why can't it be through AIEEE, on par with NITs and other national institutions. Secondly my undesratstning is IT BHU VC and Executive council are civil servants and not elected people. Then how can they say anything to MHRD proposals. It is much better if the ITBHU alumni who are following this matter approach our PM or Rahul Ghandhi to resolve this.
1. IIT B/IISc 2. IIT K 3. IIT M 4. IIT Kgp/Roorkee 5. IITG 6. IIT BHU 7. ISM/BITS Pilani
3rd after iit kanpur and it bhu :) the very best NIT in north india
IIT Guwahati is going to organiz GATE 2010
IT BHU, ISM DHANBAD, BITS PILANI, RANCHI. All these institutes accept jee extended merit list.
Neither is particularly good. If you can't able to get admissions in DU, JNU, IIT, or BHU first than you can enroll for these universities.

No but being in IIT would be a great Advantage.
Around 10 lakh people appeared for IIT 2010. But only 9000 got selected.
In Sanskrit, "bhu" is a root word which means "to become" or "to be." It is often used as a prefix to form other words and has various meanings depending on context, such as "earth," "being," or "becoming."
