I imagine it depends on the type of Asthma, and the severity.

More sleep certainly helps me, because my allergy-induced asthma adversely affects my sleep quality, and during the months of May, and September, I need from 14 to 16 hours of sleep to feel rested. Since I have a family, and a job, I can only get that much sleep on weekends. By Friday, I am usually barely functional, and exhausted.
