Normally no, but It is possible, Top the fluid level off, an see if the problem goes away.
There will be a fill plug on the side of the trans, fill it until fluid comes out of the hole and seal it back up.
The fluid is aerating, usually from being overfull.

There is no dip stick on a 3 speed "tree" trans. Trans fluid is added by removing the screw on top of trans casing underneath the vehichle.
There is no dipstick for the trans.
