There are no reports of any interaction between milk thistle and oral contraception and nobody has reported that it caused their contraception to fail. However, no studies have ever addressed this issue and therefore there is no definite .

Milk Thistle detoxes the liver and so may cause an interaction, however there have never been any reports of this. The nature of milk thistle is to clean out this organ and so I would always be dubious to use milk thistle within 4 hours of taking the pill, just as one should be careful to take another pill if they vomit or have diarrhea within 4 hours of taking the pill.
