Yes. The DVD player does,'t usually go through the tuner. The "new digital TV" just means that it has a digital tuner. This won't affect things like DVD players that don't use the antenna input.

How are you supposed to use your DVD now when they are programed for Channel 3 which is no longer?

I think I understand what you're trying to ask here, but don't really see how it's an issue. If you've got old equipment, it will continue to work together the same way it always has.Otherwise, you may need to get some kind of converter to get your (new) DVD player to talk to your (old) TV.If you have an old DVD player and a new TV, there's probably SOME form of output on the DVD player the new TV will take... like the yellow/red/white set of plugs. If you really can't figure it out, take a picture of the input/output panels on your equipment and go to a local electronics store. They'll help you figure out how to get them connected, and sell you the cables/converters necessary.

Why are movies played on my old DVD hooked to new HDTV playing pink?

You probably don't have a good connection from the DVD player or you're trying to use the RGB inputs instead of the analog composite unit. If the DVD player has RGB outputs and the TV has RGB inputs, then chances are, one of the cables is either bad or has become unplugged at one end.
