No, at least that has never happened with my crabs. When your crabs go down to molt the others will mostly leave them alone, but when your crabs finish molting and come up their skin is still a little soft. The problem with that is that their skin smells sweet and it's still soft so the other crabs might be tempted to attack them considering that they are carnivores. What I do with my crabs is let them molt and when they come up I put them in a separate cage for like a week and let them live alone until their skin has hardened.
Nothing really. It is probably molting or just trying to get some shade. Look up " What should you do when your hermit crab is molting? " for what to do when your hermit crab is molting. Or just type in " molting " to know what molting is.
no
No, you cannot. You have to put them in separate cages when they' re molting.
It will usually be molting for a month or two. It's important that you try to leave your crab alone when it's molting.
i think it was 10 years
No, it is most likely molting.
Hermit crabs molt when they feel the need to. Nothing is wrong with your crab if it hasn't molted. :)
Yes, a hermit crab will grow its let back if it has lost one when it molts. It's easier to see if your hermit crab has signs of molting. If its lost a leg you will see that the leg will start to turn into a gelatin like substance. Which tells you its going inot the stage of molting.
it means that it is time for it to grow and will change it's shell when it is done. If you see the shedded exoskeleton, DO NOT REMOVE IT because the hermit crab will be hungry and will eat the exoskeleton for calcium. my hermit crab is eating his molted claw right now... kinda wierd though
some of them
Your Hermit Crab is not naked it is just molting into a different shell, mostly a bigger one.So don't be suprised if he/she is "naked".
you don't need to do anything a hermit crab will do it itself. if a hermit crab losses a leg it will grow back. it will grow back after molting.
