While there is no way to predict the future, it is worth noting that in every society with written history, there have been fears of impending doom and predictions that the end was near. There is no credible evidence that either scenario is going to happen by the year 2090, and the chances are that we will all survive; but we probably won't know for certain until we get closer to 2090.
