Oxycodone is in the classification as a Opioid but does not come up as a Opiate on a drug test when it comes to a urine test. That is why there is a separate test panel for Opiates and Oxycodone. A Opiate test is morphine based testing for products containing morphine. Oxycodone has a similar structure to Morphine but is not Morphine thus the need for Oxycodone to have its own test panel.
Morphine products include Codeine, Heroin, Dilaudid and Hydrocodone, Loratab, Vicodin and Lorcet. Oxycodone products are percocet, percodan, oxycontin , roxicodone and obviously oxycodone. The confusion comes in because oxycodone is a synthetic opiate, however, when it comes to opiates on a drug test it is morphine based.

∙ 12y agoOxycodone will always show up as an opiate when being tested for such. Just a little added info; bringing in your prescription when being tested, whether it be for probation, drug treatment, or a job, will avoid a lot of headaches than if you wait until after your tested.
