most pain killers fall under the category of "opiates" which is on almost all drug tests and if sent to a lab, they can easily detect which opiate was used.

Most pain pills that are opiates will show up in a saliva test. If your talking about Tylenol or Advil - then no - they will not.

Short answer, yes. Depending on the type of painkiller you are taking, it will show up on any drug test given. That is if it is a narcotic such as hydrocodone, oxycodone, etc......
