I have seen several instantance where ranitidine gives a false positive for meth, but when sent to a lab they can sort out the fact that it is not meth.
Actually, I take ranitidine daily for acid reflux and have been for 5 years now. I get drug tested monthly and have never had a positive result as a result of this drug. There are several OTC drugs that will show positive such as some Asthma treatment products and weight loss/energy pills. Also, several prescription drugs used to treat ADD/ADHD will show positive results for amphetamine. Usually the suspect specimen is tested further by mass spectropothy to rule out the street drug variety of amphetamine/methamphetamine. The reason for these mistakes with the drug tests is the Ephedrine content that is common among all of these drugs.
