Unless the power charge on the battery is very low, it may impact overall performance. But if the battery is over 60% it should be fine. But whenever you unplug the AC power, your screen may get dimmer since it is running from the battery.

Mine does that too...drives me insane. If anyone has an answer, please post it. Rather than unplugging it and removing the battery, hold down the power button for 10 seconds and the laptop will shut down.
On most laptops - hold down the fn key (next to the CTRL key) - and press function keys f6 or f7 to adjust the brightness. Release the keys when you are happy with the level. The laptop will retain the setting until you change it (even on power off).i also have a problem with that but also there is no brightness adapter in the power options sittings!
