Kidney damage is unlikely. However, people with impaired kidney or liver function (such as alcoholics) should not take methocarbamol because it will not be cleared from the system properly and the buildup can and will cause overdose reactions. This is especially true if it is taken with alcohol.

Methocarbamol is a central nervous system depressant, and it is dangerous to take it in conjunction with any depressant drugs including alcohol.
