When Dustpelt still shows no respect for Firestar(heart) Sandstorm turns her back on him. Sandstorm becomes jealous when she remembers that Firestar had a love for the young Starclan medicine cat, Spottedleaf. He still loves Spottedleaf and she loves him back but she doesn't mate with him because she doesn't want to break the warrior code. In Firestar's Quest the two Thunderclan cats mate and have their kits Leafkit and Squirrelkit. Spottedleaf also tells Sandstorm their relationship and Sandstorm doesn't worry anymore.
