Yes, crabs can sometimes get into a bit of a tussle over territory, and yes, it is good to have two of roughly the same size, but for the most part crabs will leave each other alone. Spider crabs most of all, as spider crabs are one of the most docile breeds of crab. The best advice I can give is to either have 2 babies or 2 adults, not one baby and one adult.
