Ill be the first to tell anyone taking any drug of any kind an hour before a drug screen. No, its not possible for a urine test to show positive for that or any kind of drug that soon of time regardless of your metabolic rate. Unless that is your flushing your system out drinking glass upon glass but i suppose even at that time the test would show up as unconclusive being that much fluids are being pushed through your system to fast. It will depend on your metabolism and what test they will be performing. Some people will test positive for past xanax use within a larger time frame than others. However, like I stated at the beginning, it will all depend on your metabolism. If you want to be sure about not having xanax in your system, just go online and buy a "field drug test" that includes xanax (benzodiazepan) within its testing grid. This tests looks like a "pregnancy urine test dip stick", the only difference being that they will have multiple "dip sticks" that will test for different compounds i.e. (cocaine, opiates, THC, amphetamines etc. ) This tests are usually good at detecting current use, but will be less effective the longer you stay off the drug.

In the second scenario, if your urine is taken, and sent away to a lab, then a urine spectroanalysis is most likely to be done. This tests will be able to detect minute trace ammounts of any drug (legal or illegal) that may be in your system, but then again, it will depend on what "they" are looking for. Hope this helps.
