Yes, the Gosselins finished out season 5 of 'Jon & Kate Plus 8' as a part of their contract. Originally, the Gosselin's were contracted for 40 episodes, but it was cut short by TLC's attempts to manipulate the family, and Gosselin's public feuding over their divorce, assets and the filming of the children.
In the end, there were 23 episodes in the final season.
