The mayans are from the past. So yes, they did end the calender.
The Mayans.
They ran out of ink.
nothing about this particular question has been proven
the mayans created the calendar around 613 B.C
Nothing. The so-called 2012 "doomsday" is based on a misinterpretation; that's when the Mayan calendar "resets". Sort of like on December 31, when our own calendar "ends". The idea that somehow the Mayan calendar foretells the end of the world is laughable, considering that the Mayans apparently couldn't foresee the end of the Mayans 500 years ago.
Mayans celebrate the end of their calendar year by lighting new fires, dancing and making offerings to the gods.
The end of the world will not happen, nobody has been able to read the Mayan calendar.
because they believed that the world started with them and their calendar and their calendar doesn't go past 2011, so...
The world was supposedly supposed to end December 21, 2012. Or at least thats what the Mayans thought. MORE: The Mayans didn't think the world was going to end. It was modern man who put this interpretation on it. For the Mayans it was just the end of a calendar and a start of a new one. Just like our calendar. We don't think that the world is ending each New Year.
According to the scientist, they kind of believe so. They found an ancient calendar that belonged to the Mayans. The Mayans predicted that the world would end on December 21, 2012.
Well, the world ending in 2012 was some superstition, the Mayans wrote a calendar for every year before 2012. The world ending was some big joke because the Mayans didn't make a calendar for 2012, so people thought that that's when the Mayans thought the world was going to end.
