They CAN yes, by choice of the Movie theater and permission by the company that owns the series. They have shown in select theaters the Death Note movie and also the Bleach Movie.

Breaking Dawn is scheduled to be released in the movie theaters on November 18th, 2011. If Breaking Dawn does well in theaters, expect for it to be shown for a while. As of right now, no release date for the DVD is known.
